An AI-powered accelerator delivered in partnership with Microsoft, supporting ventures driving pandemic recovery in healthcare and manufacturing and showcasing how social tech can lead systems change in times of crisis.
In 2021, as the world grappled with the aftershocks of COVID-19, we partnered with Microsoft to launch the third cohort of our AI for Social Impact accelerator: a four-month programme designed to support ventures reimagining the future of healthcare and manufacturing through artificial intelligence.
From AI-driven cancer detection and hospital optimisation to sustainable building systems and net-zero strategy tools, the 13 selected ventures tackled pandemic recovery at its roots with solutions that were not only technically ambitious but also socially transformative. Alongside access to Microsoft's cloud expertise, participants benefited from bespoke advisory sessions, peer learning, and expert guidance from Social Tech Trust on embedding scalable, purpose-led impact into their growth models.
This programme proved that AI, when developed with intention and integrity, can be a powerful catalyst for rebuilding resilient, equitable systems.
Venture highlights:
C the Signs – Early cancer detection using AI-driven clinical decision support.
CanSense – Non-invasive blood diagnostics for early-stage cancer detection.
