Between 2019 and 2020, Social Tech Trust and Microsoft co-created the AI for Good Accelerator, a pioneering programme designed to unlock the power of artificial intelligence for social transformation.

Spanning two impactful cohorts, the accelerator supported 23 early-stage ventures using AI to address some of society’s most urgent challenges, from accessible mobility and independent living to sustainable agriculture, energy efficiency and mental health.

What set AI for Good apart was not just the technology, but the values behind it. Grounded in the belief that people—not algorithms—should shape the future, the programme placed purpose and inclusion at the heart of AI development.

Over an immersive four-month journey, each venture received tailored business support, access to Microsoft’s technical expertise and global networks, and intensive mentoring on ethical AI and impact management. The result: ventures emerged with stronger, more responsible products and the clarity and confidence to scale their impact.

Whether making cities more inclusive, tackling social isolation, or rethinking how we recycle, these startups are powerful proof that AI can be a force for good when values drive the vision.

• miiCARE – Creators of MiiCube, an AI-based digital companion designed to help elderly people live independently and safely.

• BeneTalk – The world’s first wearable speech tracker and digital fluency coach for people with speech disorders.

• EcoSync – AI-powered energy efficiency platform that stops commercial buildings from heating empty rooms.
