Through Social Tech Trust, we’ve operated at the heart of the UK’s impact tech ecosystem since 2008. Now, we’re launching our first seed fund, Social Tech Ventures (STV) to realise the value generated by the standout companies we identify through our accelerators and trusted networks.

WHY WE'RE LAUNCHING THE FUND

The biggest barrier to scale for impact tech ventures is the lack of aligned, flexible investment. While the global market for impact tech is growing rapidly, traditional fund managers, LPs, and advisors often lack understanding of the space, and investment innovation remains scarce.

We’re stepping in to address this challenge as a strategic priority, placing the needs of founders at the centre. Our approach provides impact-aligned capital to UK-based start-ups tackling society's most pressing challenges.

HOW WE INVEST

Our innovative financing structure offers flexibility and optionality, enabling ventures to grow in the way that best suits their potential. We invest in companies pursuing:

• Equity investment – Startups seeking to raise further equity in the next 1–2 years.

• Flexible equity investment – Startups that want the option to raise equity, pursue revenue-based growth, or a hybrid of both.

WHAT WE BACK 

We focus on sectors where impact and innovation can go further, faster:

• Health and Social Care – Preventative healthcare, mental health & wellbeing, healthy ageing

• Climate and the Environment – Renewable energy, climate resilience, circular economy

• Financial Resilience – Future of work, education and training, financial inclusion
